In football, LeBron plays the role of receiver. In his first year, he made 19 touchdowns in 6 stunning wee football games. Frankie Walker, his coach, was a man who soon had a profound effect of LeBron’s life. After a football season has ended, Walker started to hear stories about his young star, a 4th grader, missed out the school on daily basis. It didn’t take long for LeBron and his group to make a recognition around their place in Akron. They learned the basics and fundamentals of the basketball game from Dambrot and develop their great chemistry. Figuratively and literally, LeBron’s performance was above his crewmates. When he was in 8th grade, LeBron was already 6 ft. tall, had the sixth sense and can play the entire positions for the game.
Calling their team as Northeast Ohio Shooting Stars, the team, coached by Joyce’s father, made a scene in 1997 by qualifying for 6th Grade AAU National Championships held in Salt Lake City in Utah. 2 years later, they went up to the AAU 8th Grade finals held in Orlando, Florida. The team won their 1st 5 games and made a showdown with Southern California All-Stars. Unfortunately, they lost at 68-66, but LeBron made a big name because of his stunning play.
At that time, Joyce, McGee, Cotton and LeBron were dubbed as “Fab Four”, who at then arrived at an agreement; they are a package deal, pledging to continue their basketball careers together. They settled on Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School, best known for its academic excellence, the SVSM was able to establish a new legacy, with James leading the way.
